I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
